Cambridge Redhawks Under New Ownership: Brantford Bandits Group Takes the Helm

The Cambridge Redhawks hockey club is proud to announce that it has been acquired by the ownership group from the Brantford Bandits, led by Rob McIntosh and Eric Boissonneault.

This acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for the Redhawks and brings fresh leadership to the team. When asked about what excites them the most about joining the Redhawks, Eric’s First answer was “The history and the rink. There’s no other feeling like hockey in Cambridge and the Galt arena………….short of maybe places like Maple Leaf Gardens or Joe Louis arena”.

The previous owners, Scott and Kelly Hunter, were integral in the development and growth of the Redhawks during their time in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL). Starting with the franchise in Guelph and later relocating to Cambridge, the Hunters played a significant role in shaping the team’s identity as the Redhawks. The GOJHL extends our heartfelt gratitude to Scott and Kelly Hunter for their contributions to the Redhawks and wishes them all the best in their future endeavours.

In a parallel move, the Brantford Bandits have been acquired by Jon Clark and Mike Christian, who currently own the Paris Titans of the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL). This transaction further solidifies the evolving landscape of junior hockey ownership in Ontario.

“It’s our goal to be continuously growing and the opportunity to be a part of such a great hockey association and group of people excited us from day one. We spent last year preparing and developing relationships with our Paris Titans franchise and laying the groundwork to provide a foundation to develop junior hockey players from boys to men and leaders in our great communities of The County of Brantford and now with the City of Brantford,” said Mike Christian, new co-owner of the Brantford Bandits. Jon Clark Extended on this by saying “The opportunity to apply our business model and brand of Junior hockey to a high potential market like Brantford”, after being asked what excites him the most about joining the GOJHL.
