Two GOJHL Players Awarded OHA Bursaries

Two Greater Ontario Hockey League players have been selected to receive bursaries from Dairy Farmers of Ontario (DFO) in the amount of $6,000 each to further their post-secondary education.

The bursary program is funded directly by MilkUP, DFO’s youth lifestyle brand, which recognizes young athletes who show leadership in building strong and healthy communities, demonstrate high academic achievement, are dedicated to, and have a passion for hockey. Nicholas Graniero from the LaSalle Vipers and Jace McGrail from the Sarnia Legionnaires are two of eight recipients of the bursaries.

“We are proud to partner with Ontario Hockey Association to recognize these eight student-athletes who exemplify a strong commitment to school and sport,” said Cheryl Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Dairy Farmers of Ontario. “Through MilkUP, DFO will provide each bursary recipient $6,000 towards their post-secondary education. Each of the award winners demonstrates MilkUP’s values – perseverance, originality, and heart – and are true inspirations to their classmates and community.”

“The GOJHL is thrilled to have two of our student-athletes receive these critical bursaries. They will go a long way in supporting Nicholas and Jace in their post-secondary education. It is a great example of how our teams support these outstanding young men not only as athletes but as students,” says Tim Simmons, Interim Commissioner. “Our player’s education is always a top priority.”
