April 10, 2023 – The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) is pleased to announce that Collins Clothiers is the official sponsor of the Sutherland Cup Round Robin and Championship Series.
“We are thrilled that Collins Clothiers has decided to increase its support of the league. I want to thank them for their commitment to the teams and our outstanding players,” says GOJHL Interim Commissioner, Tim Simmons. “We couldn’t ask for a better partner.” This is the first time in league history that a sponsor has been secured for the round-robin and final series.
Collins Clothiers has sponsored the league’s Player of the Month Awards since 2021. The Player, Rookie, and Goaltender of the Month each receive a Collins gift card throughout the season. “We’ve had a great partnership with the league and the Player of the Month Awards have been well received by the players. They are coming into our stores and looking sharp when they leave,” says President Curt Collins.
Collins has a son and daughter playing competitive hockey and says he and his company are heavily involved in hockey culture. “Most importantly we like seeing young people active in sports but also look and feel the part. We believe part of the game and part of the game day routine is looking good, looking sharp, and showing up at the rink ready to play. Hockey is one of the last sports where players continue to dress up and I think it’s very important to do that.”
Collins Clothiers has been family owned and operated since 1965 and is Canada’s largest independent formal wear company with 200 locations across the country.
