As the calendar flips to 2020, the Leamington Flyers have added another offensive weapon, acquiring forward Nick Smith from the Soo Thunderbirds of the NOJHL.
Smith has compiled 18 goals and 42 points in 30 games this season with the Thunderbirds and was the team’s leading scorer as well as the 8th leading scorer in the NOJHL.
Over four seasons, Smith scored 91 goals and 110 assists in 180 games as a member of the Thunderbirds.
To counter the move, the Flyers have released defenseman, Anthony Chambers.
The Leamington Flyers would like to thank Anthony for his contribution to the team on and off the ice.
The Flyers open the 2020 portion of their schedule this afternoon when they travel to LaSalle and face the Vipers at 2:30pm.
The next home game for Leamington is this Thursday, January 9th when they host the Chatham Maroons at the Kinsmen Recreation Complex.
Game time is 7:10pm
