Just before the roster deadline, the Leamington Flyers picked up defenseman Hayden Johnston from the LaSalle Vipers.

The 6’1” blueliner had suited up in 28 games for the Vipers this season, contributing one goal and 12 assists along the way.

Johnston has played a total of 70 games with LaSalle, totaling 9 goals and 22 assists in that time.

He also suited up for four games with the OHL’s Windsor Spitfires during the 2017-18 season.

The Thunder Bay native will be in the lineup for the Flyers tonight as they travel to St. Mary’s and face the Lincolns at 7:30pm.

In a corresponding move, Leamington has sent forward Liam Hall to the Essex 73’s of the PJHL.

Hall had 10 goals and 3 assists for 13 points in 32 games this year with the Flyers.

Next home action for the Flyers will be on Thursday, January 16th when they host Johnston’s former club, the LaSalle Vipers, at 7:10pm tonight at the Kinsmen Recreation Complex.

It’s also the night of the Flyers annual raffle draw, please be in attendance to see if you’ve won a $2,500 travel voucher from Southland Travel in Essex.
