Michigan All-Stars Sign in Leamingtom

LEAMINGTON, ONTARIO –

The Leamington Flyers have crossed the border to fill in
two more roster spots ahead of the 2019-2020 season.

The Flyers have signed 6’1” forward Dylan Montie and 5’11” defenseman Joey
Johnson
, both from the Michigan High School Hockey system and former members of
Team Michigan.

The 19 year old Montie hails from Brighton, Michigan and spent last season with the
Topeka Pilots of the NAHL and was a 1st Team All-Star with Detroit Catholic Central in
2017-2018.

“Dylan comes to us highly recommended from the DCC program,” says Leamington
general manager, Justin Solcz. “He is a power forward that is heavy on pucks and
competes every shift. We expect him to contribute offensively this season.”
Johnson suited up at Midland Dow Michigan High School last year and earned 2nd Team
All-Star honours.

“We saw Joey numerous times last season and he was excellent in our spring camp,”
Solcz recalls. “He’s an outstanding skater and makes a great first pass. He’s also a very
good defender in one-on-one situations and will be a great addition to our D core.”
“It’s another great sign for our organization to have two well-regarded players from
Team Michigan join us this season.” Solcz commented. “We look forward to helping
them develop and reach their goals of playing collegiate hockey.”

Flyers training camp runs from Friday, August 16 th to Sunday, August 18 th at the
