With training camp into its second week and roster decisions still to be made, Hamilton Kilty B’s prospects are getting their competitive juices flowing as pre-season intensity picks up.

The Kilty B’s will host their first pre-season exhibition game at the Mohawk Quad Pad on Wednesday when the Brantford Bandits visit at 8 p.m. They will also host the Brampton Bombers on Thursday at 7 p.m. before a weekend break.

The Kilty B’s and  Bandits are coming off a 2-2 tie in Brantford on Monday night, with Kilty B’s goals coming from Andrew Salt and Jordan Van Hunnik.

Hamilton also wrapped up a busy weekend with an 8-7 overtime loss on Sunday evening in Brampton. The Kilty B’s got two goals each from Colin MacDougallJacob McEachern and Bart Wsol, while Jacob MacDonald had a goal and two assists.

The Kilty B’s had opened their pre-season schedule Friday with a 2-0 win over the Caledonia Corvairs.

With more than 10 Kilty B’s off to OHL training camps, the pre-season games this week allow hopefuls a final opportunity to make an impression on vice-president/general manager Brian Rizzetto, head coach John Barrett and the rest of the junior B’ club’s staff. It will be the final game action before the season-opening GOJHL showcase weekend in Pelham, Sept. 6-7.

The Kilty B’s home-opener is set for Sept. 9, with the rival St. Catharines Falcons visiting the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena at 7 p.m.
