Collins Clothiers “Player of the Month” Awards for January

Goalie of the Month
Dixon Grimes – Listowel Cyclones
The third year netminder from Guelph posted a perfect 5-0-0 record in January, his second streak of 5+ wins this season.  His 1.60 GAA, .938 save percentage and two shutouts helped lead the top-ranked Cyclones to a 7-2-1 record for the month. The former Midwestern Conference Rookie All-Star saved his best performance for last, stopping 25 of 26 shots in a 3-1 win over the Vipers in LaSalle on the 31st.
Player of the Month
Lucas Chard – London Nationals
The third year forward from Burlington led all GOJHL skaters with 5-15-20 points in January, helping the Nationals to a 9-1-1 record for the month.  Lucas scored his 50th career GOJHL goal in a 3-1 win over Komoka on January 20; part of a 9-game point streak.  His scoring efforts have vaulted him up to second in the league scoring race.
Rookie of the Month
Jimmy Sutherland – Strathroy Rockets
With 10 points in his first 28 games through the end of December, the Komoka native had a break-out January with 6-8-14 points in 10 games, helping his Rockets to an impressive 7-0-3 record.  The Guelph Storm draft pick scored seven of his points in wins over Chatham on the 7th (1-3-4 pts) and 20th (2-1-3 pts, including the game-winning goal).
