MARCH 11th, 2022 – The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) today unveiled the format for the 2021-22 Sutherland Cup Playoffs.
The top eight clubs from each conference will qualify for the 2021-22 GOJHL postseason and will battle through three rounds of best-of-7 series to determine the conference winner. Returning for the first time since the 2012-13 season, the champions of the Western, Mid-Western and Golden Horseshoe conferences will then face off in a home-and-home round robin. The top two teams from the round robin will advance to a best-of-3 series to decide the Sutherland Cup champion.
In the event of a three-way tie during the round robin, a team cannot be eliminated by a tie and a tie-breaker game would be scheduled for May 26th between the 2nd and 3rd place teams. A tie between the 1st and 2nd teams would be broken using the GOJHL’s Regular Season Final Standings Policy.
