Vipers Host Rockets To Begin Busy Stretch

The LaSalle Vipers will play four games in a six-day span, beginning on Wednesday night at the Vollmer Complex when they take on the Strathroy Rockets for the final time in the regular-season.

The two teams will meet for the second straight game after the Vipers went into Strathroy this past Saturday night and picked up a 5-2 victory to snap a three-game skid. The win helped LaSalle (22-16-1-5) move three points clear of the Chatham Maroons for fourth-place in the Western Conference as the two teams battle for home-ice advantage in what is likely to be a first-round playoff matchup. Strathroy (18-23-2-2) sits in sixth in the conference at the moment and will have to fend off Sarnia and Komoka who are both just four points back.

Tonight’s game is the second last home regular-season game for the Vipers who have six games remaining on their schedule. The team will then hit the road for three games starting on Friday in St. Marys, followed by a trip to Komoka on Saturday, and then finishing Monday with a matinee game in London on Family Day.
