The Hamilton Kilty B’s are still searching for their first win in December after falling 4-3 on home ice to the visiting Thorold Blackhawks at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena on Monday.
With the win, Thorold (15-12-4) moves to within a point of the fourth-place Kilty B’s (16-11-3) in the GOJHL’s Golden Horseshoe Conference.
It was the third straight loss for the Kilty B’s, who also fell 4-1 to first-place Caledonia (26-2-1) on Saturday after a 4-3 double-overtime loss to the sixth-place Pelham Panthers (10-16-2) on Dec. 2.
The Kilty B’s trailed against Thorold from the outset on Monday after the Blackhawks’ Dylan Scriver scored in the opening minute, his first of three goals in the game.
Peyton Adams-Matthews, Terry Bridgland and Peter Izzo scored for the Kilty B’s, while Joel Chauvin had the other goal for the Blackhawks, who led 2-1 after the first period and 3-2 after 40 minutes.
Chase Grsic stopped 21 of 24 shots in earning the win in net for Thorold, while Justin Easter stopped 25 of 28 shots in taking the loss.
Easter remains atop the GOJHL goaltending leaderboard with a .930 save percentage and four shutouts and is fourth in the league with a 2.14 goals-against average.
The Kilty B’s travel to Buffalo on Sunday afternoon to face the Regals (7-18-4), before hosting the Welland Jr. Canadians (4-20-4) next Monday night.
