We’re excited to announce the Performers of the Week for Week 8!
Eastern Conference: Derek Smyth (Fort Erie Meteors)
The St. Catharines native had a goal and four assists in the Meteors’ 10-2 win over Sarnia on Saturday to extend his point streak to four games. Derek was Ottawa’s 11th round pick in the 2020 OHL Draft and scored 4 goals and 26 points in 145 games for the 67’s. He now has 10 points in 9 games since being acquired from the 67’s, and joins Finn Moffet as back-to-back Eastern Conference Performers of the Week for the Meteors.
Western Conference: Lincoln Moore (St. Thomas Stars)
After being acquired from the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit on Friday, Moore scored two goals – including the game-winner – in the Stars 6-4 win over the Panthers later that day, and duplicated that feat with two goals – including the OT winner – in Saturday’s 5-4 OT win over the Corvairs. The Sault Ste. Marie native was selected first overall by the Spirit in the 2022 OHL U18 Draft and scored 14 goals and 28 points in 106 games for Saginaw before his move to the Stars.
