Amazing story out of Sarnia! Big shoutout to the GOJHL’s Sarnia Legionnaires! Sarnia did not let Covid-19 stop them from their annual Penny Lilley Memorial Wooly Toss. Typically done the first home game in December, the Wooly Toss has fans throw hats, mittens and scarves onto the ice after the Legionnaires score their first goal.
This year’s event headed by Legionnaire Director Terry Lilley and his daughter Brooke collected an amazing 1300 plus hats, mittens and scarves that were donated to various local charities for pre Christmas community distribution. In addition to the woolies collected, $1500 was collected and converted into food gift cards for distribution.
The Sarnia Legionnaires Hockey Club thanks everyone for their community support.
