LEAMINGTON GETS FANCY WITH NEWEST ACQUISITION

LEAMINGTON – After a stand-out playoff series against the Leamington Flyers, the team has made a move to grab forward Lucas Fancy from the Strathroy Rockets.

Fancy appeared in 45 games with the Rockets last season, scoring eight goals and added 21 assists, along with 30 penalty minutes.

He also added two assists in the five game series against Leamington in last year’s playoffs.

“We are very excited to get Lucas on our side,” says Leamington General Manager, Justin Solcz. “He was excellent against us in the playoffs last year and works is an outstanding playmaker who hounds the puck.”

As a 16 year old, Fancy was the runner up for the Rookie of the Year Award in the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Stobbs Division as a member of the Blenheim Blades.

“Getting to know Lucas and his family, we are convinced say he’s an even better person off the ice,” Solcz continues. “That’s exactly the kind of person we want as a Leamington Flyer.”

The Flyers’ training camp runs from Friday Aug 16th to Sunday, Aug 18th at the Kinsmen Recreation Complex.
