Lasalle coming off an excellent win over London were looking to keep the ball rolling vs St. Mary’s Wednesday night at the Vollmer Complex. St. Mary’s struck first just 5 minutes into the opening period. It took the vipers 7 minutes to respond when Matt Carvalho picked the top corner on a hard slapshot from the top of the circle tying the game at 1 piece. After the first, Lasalle lead in shots 14-9. The second period was uneventful up until St. Mary’s scored to make it 2-1 with 5 minutes left in the second period. Lasalle responded, first from Crevier burying one low corner on a hard snap shot, tying the score at 2. Only one minute later Ferguson drove hard to the net on his off wing and tucked it around the pad to make it a 3-2 lead for the Vipers. Within 2 minutes the vipers were on top and took the lead heading into the third frame. Lasalle broke the score wide open in this period, 10 minutes into the period the Vipers had the powerplay, it was Jack Bowler who tipped a point shot from Vorshuk making the game 4-2. Two minutes later Ferguson scored his second of the night off a wrist shot from the top of the circle hitting the post and going in making the lead 5-2. It only took 3 minutes for the Vipers to strike again, Zane Dalpe scored with an assist from Silverio pushing the Vipers lead to 4. St. Mary’s scored 30 seconds after Dalpe did but the damage was done. Lasalle finished with 46 shots and the 6-3 win. Jackson Bernard played well stopping 23 of 26 shots he faced.
