Lasalle Crushes London 6-2

Lasalle coming off a 4-3 overtime loss in St. Mary’s Friday night were looking to bounce back and get a win against rival London who are a top of the league standings. The first period was an eventful one each team forechecking and creating some offence. Lasalle struck first courtesy of Crevier on breakaway, who went down and shot it low blocker and put Lasalle up 1-0. A minute and a half later Ferguson passed to Vorshuk who was stopped, Bowler collected the rebound and roofed up over the goalie making it 2-0 Vipers. With time dwindling down in the first, Skinner found AJ Ryan for a shot but was stopped, Silverio picked up the rebound and buried it into the open net making the Vipers lead 3-0 after 1 period of play. London changed goalies after the first period. Lasalle was relentless, early in the 2nd period Ferguson and Bowler had a 2 on 1, Ferguson passed it across the slot to Bowler for the easy tap in, which made it 4-0 Vipers. Ferguson had a penalty shot after being slashed on a breakaway but failed to capitalize. A lot of penalties ensued in this period for both teams. Lasalle had 18 shots through 2 periods while London had 16. Off to the third. The first 10 minutes went by without any action other then a couple shots on goal for each team. London scored which made the score 4-1 with 9:16 left in the third. A couple minutes later London struck again making it a 4-2 game. A minute after London put the game within 2 goals, Krezeminski put the game out of reach with an empty net goal with a little over 3 minutes remaining. Another minute went by and then AJ Ryan added some salt to the wound with an additional empty net goal making the score 6-2. Will Tragge played lights out stopping 28 of 30 shots, phenomenal cross crease saves kept Lasalle the lead and ultimately the win.
