King Coaching Staff To Return

KOMOKA, ONT — The Komoka Kings of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) have announced the coaching staff which lead the team to one of their most successful seasons in franchise-history will be returning for the 2019/2020 season.

Head Coach Ron Horvat will once again lead the team along with assistant coaches Mike Reati (Defence) and Colin Martin (Forwards).

“Our coaching staff is looking forward to this coming season,” Ron Horvat, Komoka Kings Head Coach said. “We have a group of players who worked hard and were eager to learn. We now feel we can make a push for a solid season and a  long playoff run.”

Horvat and his staff lead the Kings through an impressive playoff run, beating a veteran-laden Chatham Maroons team before taking the first-place Leamington Flyers to seven games before bowing out in the conference semi-finals. Their regular season performance had them improve on last season with 45 points.

“Ron and his staff did a great job with the young team we assembled this year,” Roop Chanderdat, Komoka Kings President and GM said.  “This team developed and matured under Coach Horvat’s leadership, and that was reflected in their play especially during the second half of the season and in the playoffs.”

“Mike and Colin complimented Ron very well and were a tremendous asset to our team. Overall, our coaching staff and management team worked well together, and I am looking forward to the 2019-2010 season.”
