Head Trainer for Sarnia Legionnaires Wins “Provincial” Trainer of the Year

The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League would like to congratulate Lee-Ann Ellis on this most deserving award from the Hockey Development Centre for Ontario.

This award recognizes those individuals who demonstrate outstanding dedication and service in the areas of safety and risk management as well as a commitment to the values of safety, enjoyment, fair play, education and integrity in the game of hockey through the Hockey Trainers Certification Program in Ontario.

Wayne Dillon, a representative for the Hockey Development for Ontario, announced:

“On behalf of the Hockey Development Centre for Ontario, I am pleased to inform you that Lee-Ann Ellis is this year’s recipient of the Dr. Tom Pashby “Provincial” Trainer of the Year Award.

Lee-Ann was nominated by the Ontario Hockey Association for her outstanding
dedication and service as Head Trainer with the Sarnia Legionnaires Jr. B Hockey Club. For the past two years Lee-Ann has spent countless hours upgrading the Trainer position with the Legionnaires. She has effectively digitized the entire Trainer/Player portfolio, generated online forms for player input with cross referencing capabilities to the team’s musculoskeletal and concussion control physicians. In 2016, Lee-Ann completed a 30 year
career with the Toronto Fire Services, retiring as Captain.”
