GREATER ONTARIO JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE ANNOUNCES GOLDEN HORSESHOE CONFERNCE AWARD WINNERS

March 30, 2023 – The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce the Golden Horseshoe Conference Award Winners along with the All-Star and Rookie Teams:

Boria’s regular season was deserving of two major awards. He led the GOJHL in scoring among defencemen with 14 goals and 55 points. 4 of his goals came on the powerplay and 4 were game-winners. The Grimsby native is in his third full season with the Falcons and was selected to participate in GOJHL 2002’s All-Stars versus Brock Badgers exhibition game. He also was the league’s playoff Most Valuable Player last season.

In his first full season, the 17-year-old Mississauga native scored a whopping 34 goals and added 24 assists. 9 of those goals came on the powerplay and 5 were game-winners and he spend just 8 minutes in the penalty box all season. Hebblethwaite was also selected to participate in GOJHL Top Prospects Game and was the league’s Collins Clothiers Rookie of the Month for December. He was taken in the twelfth round by the Oshawa Generals in the 2021 OHL Priority Draft.

Bielby and his staff led the Falcons to a league-best record of 36 wins, 6 losses, and 6 overtime losses, good for 82 points. They finished a single point ahead of Hamilton in the Golden Horseshoe Conference.


Dekoe, a 20-year-old Welland native, had a 20-goal season to go along with 34 assists tying teammate Calvin Crombie for the team lead in points. He was also selected as the Collins Clothiers GOJHL Player of the Month for October.



In his second season with the Falcons, Yetman scored 29 goals and added 40 assists in just 37 games. He had 6 game-winning goals and added 7 powerplay markers. He was chosen as the Collins Clothiers GOJHL Player of the Month for January and was taken in the third round of the OHL U18 Draft by the Erie Otters in 2020.

McKinney matched Hebblethwaite’s 31 goals this season to top the conference. The 20-year-old Hamilton native added 33 assists for a 64-point season that included 10 powerplay goals and 6 game-winning markers. The former Oshawa General was selected by that team in the fourth round of the 2018 OHL Priority Draft.

As a rookie Toltl had a tremendous season sporting a minuscule 1.74 goals against average and a .932 save percentage and added 3 shutouts. He was also named the Collins Clothiers GOJHL Goaltender of the Month for October. Berry, a former London National, posted a 2.47 goals against with a .905 save percentage and a shutout.
