GOJHL Thursday Recap (Nov.7)

Centennials’ win streak at 9 with win over Corvairs;  all four games decided in 3rd period.  

Caledonia Corvairs 3 at Ayr Centennials 4

The Centennials erased a 3-1 deficit with three unanswered goals culminated by Ryan McKellar‘s second goal of the game at 7:57 of the third period to snap a 3-3 tie.  Kayden Newton made 27 saves to earn his 10th win in as many starts this season.  With their 9th straight win, the Centennials (14-3-0-0) maintain sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference.  The Corvairs (10-6-2-0) are now winless in their last four (0-2-2-0).


St. Catharines 5 at Hamilton Kilty B’s 3

Aly Mostafaie scored the game-winner midway through the third period and Nathan Duplessis scored his team-leading 11th and 12th goals of the season as the Falcons (13-5-0-0) won their third straight win and took sole possession of second place in the Eastern Conference.  Jonny Brooks scored twice for Kilty B’s (8-8-2-0);  his first snapped a 194-minute home scoring drought for Hamilton, who have lost four straight at home.


KW Siskins 3 at Sarnia Legionnaires 5

Ty Moffatt broke a 3-3 tie midway thru the third period for the Legionnaires (4-9-2-0), who have points in four straight home games.  Noah Clugston had a goal and an assist for the Siskins (7-7-2-2) who saw their modest three-game road point streak snapped.


Welland Canadians 4 at Brantford Titans 5

Harrison MacCallum‘s first goal of the season with 3:12 left in the third period was the game-winner for the Titans (5-11-1-0), who snapped a three-game winless streak.  Jack Ryan scored his second hat-trick of the season and added an assist for the Canadians (5-12-1-0), who are now winless in ten (0-9-1-0)
