Kilty B’s and Falcons both rally from 3-0 deficits; Vipers edge Rockets for 4th straight win
Hamilton Kilty B’s 5 at Port Colborne Sailors 4 (OT)
Tyler Grbavac scored the overtime winner for the Kilty B’s (9-8-2-0), who overcame a 3-0 deficit and snapped their three-game losing streak to move into a tie for sixth with Port Colborne in the Eastern Conference standings. Jake Salvatore scored two goals for the Sailors (9-7-1-1), who have lost three straight.
St. Catharines Falcons 5 at Caledonia Corvairs 3
Trailing 3-0 after one period, the Falcons (14-5-0-0) scored five unanswered goals – including two from Cameron Lowe – to secure their fourth straight win and move into a tie for first in the Eastern Conference with the Ayr Centennials. Falcons scoring leader Nathan Duplessis had two assists against his former team. The Corvairs are now winless in five (0-3-2-0) and slipped to fifth in the Eastern Conference.
LaSalle Vipers 2 at Strathroy Rockets 1
Zach Vaillancourt and Jak Thiessen scored first period goals to give LaSalle an early 2-0 lead and the Vipers (13-4-0-0) hung on to win their fourth straight and move into sole possession of second in the Western Conference. Brendan Gerber scored in the first minute of the third to cut the lead in half for the Rockets, who had their six-game point streak (5-0-1-0) snapped.
Caledon Bombers 1 at Cambridge Redhawks 4
Weston Cameron scored his first career GOJHL hat-trick to lead the Redhawks (11-6-1-1), who defeated the Bombers for the second straight night and now have points in each of their last 9 games (8-0-1-0). The Bombers (1-17-0-0) went 0/8 on the power play and have lost 17 straight.
Chatham Maroons 2 at Elmira Sugar Kings 5
AP call-up Derek Hartley made 29 saves, Joey Martin scored twice and Luke Della Croce scored his league-leading 15th goal to lead the Sugar Kings (9-8-3-0) to the win. The Maroons (10-6-1-0) had their 7-game point streak snapped.
Pelham Panthers 1 at Fort Erie Meteors 3
The third-place Meteors (12-5-1-0) won their third straight at home and extended their point streak to seven games (6-0-1-0). Fort Erie’s Sam Tonelli had a goal and an assist to take the GOJHL scoring lead with 28 points. The Panthers (4-11-3-0) were outshot 57-28 and suffered their seventh straight road loss.
St. Thomas Stars 4 at Komoka Kings 5
Ryan Daze‘s second goal of the game with 26 seconds left in the third period was the game-winner for the Kings (3-14-1-0). Kade McGeen recorded his first career GOJHL hat-trick in Komoka’s first home win in eight tries this season. Lincoln Moore scored his eighth goal in four game for the Stars (4-9-2-1).
