Fresh off a two year stint in the Ontario Hockey League, the Leamington Flyers have signed forward Blake McConville.
The 6’2 right winger played 97 games in the OHL with the Sudbury Wolves, potting four goals and 10 assists in his career.
Previously, McConville scored 27 points in 31 games with the Essex 73’s of the PJHL, where he was led by Flyers’ head coach, Cam Crowder.
“We are extremely excited to add a player of Blake’s caliber to our team,” general manager Justin Solcz explains. “He is very familiar with Cam and our coaching staff and that will help towards him contributing right away.
“He will be a huge presence on the ice and in the room,” Solcz says. “As a group we look forward to continuing to develop Blake as he pursues his goal of playing at the USports level after his junior career.”
To make room on the roster, the Flyers sent defenseman, Spencer Lecot to LaSalle.
The entire Leamington organization would like to thank Spencer and his family for his contributions to the team, on and off the ice, and wish him well.
The Leamington Flyers face the LaSalle Vipers twice this week, starting Wednesday, November 6th in LaSalle, followed by Thursday, November 7th at the Highbury Canco Arena. Puck drop is 7:10pm.
The team anticipates McConville to make his Flyers’ debut on Sunday, November 10th when Leamington hosts Sarnia at 2:10pm. The game also marks the first Domino’s Pizza game of the season.
