Flyers Sign 5

LEAMINGTON – Fresh off their 2019 Spring Mini-Camp, the Leamington Flyers are pleased to announce the signing of five new players for the 2019-2020 season.
The Flyers have signed Liam Hall from Windsor AAA Zone’s Midget team, The 6’0 forward played in seven regular season games and five playoff games as an AP with Leamington last year, scoring 4 goals and 5 assists.

Another AAA Zone and AP, Spencer Lecot was inked as a full-time member of the club for the upcoming year. Lecot scored 17 goals and 16 assists in 35 games with the Midget’s and was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2019 Under-18 OHL Draft by the Flint Firebirds.

Along with Lecot, the Flyers snatched up 2002 born Cameron Symons who spent last season with the Blenheim Blades of the PJHL, finishing as the league’s rookie of the year runner up potting 20 goals and 10 assists.
Leamington also filled one of their 16 year old cards by grabbing Windsor native, Nicholas Beneteau. The highly skilled forward was a 10th round pick of the Sarnia Sting after scoring 18 goals and 14 assists in 33 games for the Windsor AAA Minor Midget team.
And lastly, the Flyers swung a trade with the Chatham Maroons for winger, Darby Lemieux. The former Chatham-Kent Cyclone suited up in 44 games for the Marroons, scoring four goals and adding an assist.

“We are very excited by these first five signings.” General Manager Justin Solcz stated after camp. “Liam Hall is a gritty 200 foot player who plays hard every shift. Spencer Lecot is a highly skilled defenceman who can join the rush and contribute offensively.”

“Fans are going to love the way Cam Symons and Darby Lemieux play the game; a ton of energy and very physical players who can also contribute offensively.” Solcz continued, “And we are definitely excited to see Nicholas Beneteau develop and reach his goals as a hockey player too. It’s a great way to start the 2019-2020 season.”
