Justin Easter stopped all 31 shots he faced for his league-leading third shutout of the season as the Hamilton Kilty B’s blanked the Buffalo Regals 2-0 at the Dave Andreychuk Mountain Arena, Monday.
WIth the win, Easter and the Kilty B’s (10-4-2) avenged a tough 5-1 road loss in Buffalo on Oct. 9, and also bounced back from a 3-2 road loss on Friday night in St. Catharines.
Christian Pelley scored the eventual game-winner 8:32 into the second period and Matthew Homer provided some breating room by making it 2-0 five minutes into the third period. Steven Laforme and Terry Bridgland each had two assists. The Kilty B’s held a 36-31 edge in shots over Buffalo (4-10-2).
Easter now leads all goaltenders in the the 26-team GOJHL with a .945 save percentage and three shutouts and is fifth in the loop with a 1.79 goals-against average.
St. Catharines 3, Hamilton 2
On Friday in St. Catharines, the Kilty B’s dropped a 3-2 decision to the Falcons (8-5-1).
Xavier Drummond scored twice and Andrew Somerville added the other for St. Catharines, while Jacob McEachern and Cam Gauvreau scored for the Kilty B’s.
Hamilton will travel to face the Pelham Panthers (4-9-2) on Sunday before hosting the Fort Erie Meteors (2-11-2) on Monday at 7 p.m.
