The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce the winners of our Collins Clothiers Players of the Month for January.
Player of the Month: Jaden Lee (St. Marys Lincolns)
11 GP: 10 goals, 15 assists, 25 points
The third year forward had points in all 11 games (all wins), including a career high 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists) in the Lincolns’ 7-1 win against the KW Siskins during which he tied a franchise record with his 5th shorthanded goal of the season. He set a new franchise record with his 11th career game winning goal in a 6-2 win in Chatham on the 12th. A third round pick of the Oshawa Generals in the 2021 OHL U18 Draft, Jaden enters February ranked 3rd among GOJHL scorers in both points (58) and assists (35).
Rookie of the Month: Easton Lynds (Port Colborne Sailors)
8 GP: 6 goals, 4 assists, 10 points
The Thorold native scored the game-winner and added 2 assists in the Sailors’ 3-1 win over the Brantford Titans on the 17th. A 9th round pick of the Peterborough Petes in 2023, Easton’s 38 points rank 2nd in team scoring and 2nd among all GOJHL rookies, behind fellow rookie teammate Vasily Serov. Entering February, he leads all GOJHL rookies with 3 shorthanded goals this season.
Goaltender of the Month: JJ Salajko (Port Colborne Sailors)
8 GP: 7-1-0, 1.81 GAA, .938 Sv%
The rookie netminder won each of his first 7 starts of the month, including a 42-save effort in the Sailors’ 2-1 shootout win over the Caledonia Corvairs on the 4th. An 8th-round pick of the Kingston Frontenacs in 2022, the Columbus, Ohio native ended the month tied for 2nd among GOJHL goalies with 18 wins and ranks in the top 10 in both GAA (7th) and save percentage (8th).
