Announcement: Director of Player Safety

The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Spada as the Director of Player Safety.

The primary role of this position will be to review all video review submissions and render decisions following Hockey Canada & OHF playing rules.

Craig is a Hockey Canada Level 6 Official, who was recruited by both the American Hockey League (AHL) and the National Hockey league (NHL) in 2001. Over his officiating career, Spada managed to referee 247 NHL games, two Memorial Cup Finals, two Calder Cup Finals, two Buckland Cup Finals, one Dudley Hewitt Cup Final and three Sutherland Cup Finals. He was the Officiating Manager for the 2014 Dudley Hewitt Cup.

Craig was also regarded as one of the top Officiating Managers in the OHA, where his primary objective was to develop younger officials in the association.
