MIDWESTERN CONFERENCE FORWARD – Jacob Robitaille

Taking the honours of the 2013 February Midwestern Conference Forward of the Month was Listowel Cyclones power forward Jacob Robitaille. The 6’0, 190lbs forward from Penetang was instrumental in the success of the Listowel Cyclones througout the entire regular season as well as in February. In the nine games he played in February, Robitaille managed to score an outstanding 13 goals and six assists. The speedy forward had a big four point night on the 17th against the Elmira Sugar Kings when he netted three goals and added an assists on route to a big 6-3 win for his Cyclones club! |
MIDWESTERN CONFERENCE GOALTENDER – Lucas Machalski

For the second time this season, Cambridge Winter Hawks goaltender Lucas Machalski has been named the Goaltender of the Month. In February this young man managed to shut out the opposing teams four of the seven games he played in. An outstanding feat considering the goal scorer’s he faced. Standing at 6’1 and weighing 187lbs, Machalski is truly a gifted netminder. In the seven games he played in this month, Machalski managed to turn away 238 of the 248 shots he faced. His highlight games took place on the 23rd when he faced the Elmira Sugar Kings. Machalski tourned away all 49 shots he faced on route to a big 9-0 win for his club. |
MIDWESTERN CONFERENCE DEFENSEMAN – Andrew Coupland

The second of two Cambridge Winter Hawks to receive Players of the Month honours this month is defenseman Andrew Coupland. This Glenn Morris native was the September Defenseman of the Month and with the big February he had was the perfect selection for the Midwestern Conference to make as the February Defenseman of the Month. Standing at 5’11 and weighing 180lbs, Coupland is certainly a presence felt when he hits the ice. In nine games he managed to score five assists while constantly getting ice time against some of the conference’s top scorer’s. Couplands highlight game came on February 1st against the Brampton Bombers where he scored two assists on route to a big 5-1 win. |
WESTERN CONFERENCE FORWARD – Kyle Brothers

The Lambton Shores Predators have enjoyed watching the development of one of their top forwards in Kyle Brothers for the last three seasons. Brothers, a 6’1, 170lbs native of Waterford has been a key reason why the Predators have been able to become successful in the regular season. In the 11 games he played in throughout February, Brothers was able to net seven goals and added an outstanding 15 assists. A perfect selection as the Western Conference Forward of the Month, Brothers has become a name that opposing teams coaches tell their players to watch when he gets onto the ice. Brothers highlight February game came on the 16th against the Leamington Flyers where he was able to score a goal and three assists on route to a big 5-3 win. |
WESTERN CONFERENCE GOALTENDER – Brandon Campbell

The second Lambton Shores Predator in February to receive an award is the Pred’s top goaltender in Brandon Campbell. With an outstanding February, backed by very impressive statistics, Campbell is the perfect selection to receive the Western Conference Goaltender of the Month Award. The Alvinston native joined the Predators two seasons ago and has never looked back, helping the team get on a winning path. Standing at 5’11 and weighing 165lbs, Campbells speed and ability to see the pcuk through traffic has helped him become a stand out netminder in the GOJHL. In the seven February games he played in he was able to turn away 189 of the 209 shots he faced. Campbells highlight game this month came against the London Nationals on the 6th, where he made 36 saves on 38 shots as his team went on to win the contest by a final score of 9-2. |
WESTERN CONFERENCE DEFENSEMAN – Steven Szekesy

The Chatham Maroons second year defenseman in Steven Szekesy was selected as the February Defenseman of the Month. This young man has become a staple on a franchise which has seen themselves go from last place to first place all in two seasons. Standing at 5’10 and weighing 197lbs, Szekesy is certainly a key reason for the success of the Maroons. This month this young man managed to put up six assists in the nine games he played in, all while facing the top scorer’s in the Western Conference on a nightly basis. Szekesy’s highlight game in February came against the Lambton Shores Predators on the 9th where he scored two assists on route to a big 6-5 win for his Maroons club. |
GOLDEN HORSESHOE CONFERENCE FORWARD – Brooker Muir

Selected as the February Golden Horseshoe Conference Forward of the Month is Welland Canadian forward Brooker Muir. Young Muir, a Welland native has enjoyed a very successful second season with the Canadians this year. Winning the forward of the month for the second time this season, Muir managed to continue to put up solid stats in February. Standing at 5’11 and weighing in at 185lbs, Muir manages to use his speed and hockey smarts to his advantage. In eight games througout February, Muir was able to notch four goals and added 12 assists. Muirs highlight game this month came on the 10th against the Buffalo Blades where he scored a goal and added six assists for a seven point night. The Canadians went on to win that game by a final score of 8-1. |
GOLDEN HORSESHOE CONFERENCE GOALTENDER – Alexander Brooks-Potts

For the second time this season the Stoney Creek Warriors first year goaltender, Alexander Brooks-Potts has been named the Golden Horseshoe Conference Goaltender of the Month. The Burlington native managed to post some awesome statistics making him the leading candidate to receive the award this month. In the five games he played in, Brooks-Potts managed to make 135 saves out of the 145 shots he faced. Standing at just 5’10 and weighing 156lbs, the young goaltender has shown opposing teams that he’s a force when he’s in between the pipes. February 9th against the Niagara Falls Canucks was Brooks-Potts highlight game of the month, he made 29 saves on route to a big 1-0 win for his club. |

Much of the success of the Port Colborne Pirates this season can be contributed to the hard work and dedication that Pat Murphy has desplayed this season with the club. The young defenseman, playing in his first season with the Pirates has managed to catch the eye of every team in the Golden Horseshoe Conference, thus becoming the perfect selection for the conferences Defenseman of the Month Award. The 5’11, 180lbs St. Catharines native managed to net two goals and added five assists in the eight February games he played in. Scoring those points while constantly being paired up against some of the conferences best players each and every game is no easy task. Murphy’s highlight game in February came on the 3rd agianst the Niagara Falls Canucks where he managed to score a goal and added an assist in a big 5-4 win. |

Western Conference Forward – Jason Teschke

Playing in just his second full season with the Sarnia Legionnaires this year, forward Jason Teschke has been a key factor in the teams success late in their season. The Corunna native was selected as this months GOJHL Western Conference Forward of the Month. The Sarnia Legionnaires have enjoyed watching the 5’11, 180lbs power forward drive to teh net all season long for thier club. In January Teschke was able to score nine goals and 11 assists in just nine games, all while playing against some of the leagues best players. In January, Teschke’s highlight game came against the St. Thomas Stars on the 10th. His club managed to dominate, winnning by a massive score of 10-0, in the process, Teschke scored one goal and added four assists for a 5 point night. |
Western Conference Defenseman – Scott Prier

The LaSalle Vipers have enjoyed having the strong defensive play of Scott Prier for the past three seasons and will certainly look for him to lead them well into the post season. The Vipers Assistant Captain was selected as the GOJHL Western Conference Defenseman of the Month this month and will good reason too. This 6’1, 180lbs defenseman brings a solid effort to the rink each and every night and it’s not gone unnoticed by the opposing teams. This Windsor native was able to net two goals and 14 assists throughout the 10 games he played in January, while constantly defending from opposing teams best scorer’s. Priers highlight game came on January 16th against the Strathroy Rockets where he netted a goal and an assist in a 5-1 Vipers win. |
Western Conference Goaltender – Taylor Speed

The second LaSalle Viper to be named to this list this month is goaltender Taylor Speed. The Cottam native played his best hockey this season during January and has now been recognized as the GOJHL Western Conference Goaltender of the Month. Starting in nine games in January, Speed won seven of those apperances while turning away 247 of the 272 shots he faced. The 5’10, 165lbs goalie has grown into his body this season and uses his speed and quick reflexes to get the better of opposing teams. Out of the nine apperances he made in January, his highlight came on the 13th. In a game against the St. Thomas Stars, Speed was able to turn away 57 of 60 shots he faced, helping his Vipers escape with a narrow 4-3 win. |
Golden Horseshoe Conference Forward – Brooks Muir

The Welland Canadians have enjoyed watching the play and development of forward Brooks Muir for two seasons now. The home town Welland player was selected by the Golden Horseshoe Conference as their January forward of the Month and rightfully so. In just eight games throughout January, Muir netted eight goals and added four assists. Standing at 5’11 and weighing 185lbs, Muir is a tough player to face with his size, speed and hockey smarts to back him up. His January highlight game came on the 13th agianst the Buffalo Blades where he scored three goals and added two assists in a big 14-5 win for his Canadians hockey club. |
Golden Horseshoe Conference Defenseman – Chris Langdon

Chris Langdon joins his teammate Brook Muir as the second of two Welland Canadian players selected as a Player of the Month this past month. The 6’3, 215lbs defenseman was the perfect selection as the Golden Horseshoe Conference Defenseman of the Month having posted some pretty impresive statistics while constantly facing opposing teams top scorer’s. In the nine games he played in January, Langdon was able to score two goals and eight assists. The St. Catharines native is currently playing in his fifth and final season in the GOJHL with his fifth team. Langdon’s highlight game in January came on the 10th against the Thorold Blackhawks where he scorerd a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win for his Canadians team. |
Golden Horseshoe Conference Goaltender – Alexander Brooks-Potts

The Stoney Creek Warriors have seen their fair share of struggles throughout this season, however there is certainly a bright spot in net for the club. Goaltender Alexander Brooks-Potts was solid throughout January and certainly is worthy of being the GOJHL’s Golden Horseshoe Conference Goaltender of the Month. The Burlington Ontario native managed to stand tall in all seven games he played in, winning four of those starts. Books-Potts was able to make 172 saves on the 192 shots he faced while playing against some of the top teams in Junior B Hockey. Standing at just 5’10 and weighing 156lbs, Brooks-Potts manages to use his quick reflexes to his advantage when in between the pipes. His highlight game came on January 26th against the Fort Erie Meteors where he made 28 saves on 31 shots on route to a big 4-3 win for the Warriors. |

Western Conference Forward – Michael Verboom

The GOJHL Western Conference made a solid selection this month for the Forward of the Month Award in choosing Michael Verboom from the Chatham Maroons. The Maroons have been nothing short of excellent this season, with a first place ranking to this point they owe much of their winning to the play of Verboom. The Iona Station native managed to score an outstanding five goals and 11 assists in 10 games throughout December. Standing at 5’11 and weighing 175lbs this power forward has a nack for finding the back of the net. His highlight game in December came on the 21st against the St. Marys Lincolns where he notched two goals and an assist on route to a 6-1 win for his Maroons club. |
Western Conference Goaltender – Taylor Edwards

Taylor Edwards has been a major part in the success of the London Nationals so far this season. The fourth year goaltender witht he London Nationals was selected this month as the GOJHL Western Conference Goaltender of the Month and his record speaks for itself. In the eight games he played in he managed to win six of those while tuning away 252 of the 274 shots he faced. The London Native has enjoyed his time with his home town team and will certainly be a major contributor to the success for the Nationals in the playoffs. Edwards highlight game in December came on the 16th against the St. Thomas Stars where he made 43 saves in a big 5-3 win for his Nationals club. |
Western Conference Defenseman – Mark Gazdic

The London Nationals have enjoyed playing one of their top shut down defenseman Mark Gazdic this season in most tight situations. Gazdic’s ability to shut down opposing teams best players on a nightly basis has made him the GOJHL Western Conference December Defenseman of the Month. In his first season with the Nationals this 6’0, 180lbs blueliner has proven his worth with the club. This month he notched a single goal in one of his eight games. The Toronto Native has made his presence felt onthe ice and will continue to shut down top scorer’s in the Western Conference well into the post season. Gazdic’s highlight game came on the 21st against the LaSalle Vipers when his club won the game by a final score of 4-2. |

Selected as the GOJHL Midwestern Conference Forward of the Month for December is Elmira Sugar Kings leading scorer Brady Campbell. In eight December games, Campbell was able to net 10 goals and added eight assists all while helping his club secure a third place ranking in their conference. This 5’11, 170lbs forward has a nack for finding the back of the net. Now in his third full season with the Sugar Kings, Campbell, a Blenheim native, has secured his spot on the clubs top line while becoming a leader on and off the ice. His highlight game in December came against the Cambridge Winter Hawks on the 9th where he scored three goals and added an assist on route to a big 4-3 win for his club. |

The Cambridge Winter Hawks have experienced a fantastic season to date thanks in large part to the outstanding goaltending they’ve been receiving from Lucas Machalski. Playing in his second full season with the Winter Hawks Machalski’s play earned him the December GOJHL Midwestern Conference Goaltender of the Month Award. In all five games he played in, Machalski won, earning him respect not only from his teammates but also his opponents. This 6’1, 187lbs goalie was nothing short of perfect, turning away 152 of the 161 shots he faced. The Cambridge natives highlight game in December came on the 22nd against the Listowel Cyclones when he shut them out on route to a 3-0 win for his Winter Hawks |

The Midwestern Conference selected Cambridge Winter Hawks Andrew Coupland as the GOJHL Midwestern Conference Defenseman of the Month and it was a solid selection. This third year veteran defenseman has certainly made a name for himself as he constantly faces the leagues top scorers. Standing 5’11 and weighing 180lbs Coupland uses his speed and hockey smarts when faced against tough opponents. His ability to see the ice and take away scoring chances from other teams has not gone unnoticed. In seven games this month he managed to score a goal and five assists. The Glen Morris native had a big game on December 8th against the Caledonia Corvaires when he scored two assists on route to a 4-1 Winter Hawks win |

For the third streight month in a row the Golden Horseshoe Conference Foward of the Month Award for December goes to none other than Port Colbornes Captain and leading scorer Dayne Phillips. Dayne continued to have another fantastic month, notching four goals and adding 22 assists for a combined 26 points in just 10 games. The Port Colborne native will certainly be looked upon to help his team out in the post season where they’ll want nothing short of a conference title this year after making the finals last season. Phillips highlight December game came on the 23rd against the Niagara Falls Canucks when his club won the contest 6-1 and he scored a goal and added three assists. |

St. Catharines Falcons defenseman Julian Luciani earned his second GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference Defenseman of the Month Award for his outstanding play in December. The first year player with the Falcons earned the respect of coaches and teammates earlier this season when he was named one of the clubs Assistant Captains. His play in December speaks for itself; in nine game she managed to net three goals and added eight assists. The Toronto Native makes an impact in every game he plays in, shutting down the opposition while getting the puck to his teammates. Standing at 6’0 and weighing 190lbs Luciani is a steady force that opposing teams have taken notice of. His highlight game came on December 27th agianst the Thorold Blackhawks where he scored a goal and an assist while his team went on to win the game 5-1. |

Western Conference Forward – Adam Arseneault

Not many teams have the luxury of being able to play a forward who has the gift of scoring at any given time. This makes the Lambton Shores Predators very lucky to have forward Adam Arseneault, the November Western Conference Forward of the Month, on thier side. This fourth year veteran power forward has certainly made his presence felt this season. Standing at 6’3 and weighing 195lbs, Arseneault is nothing short of a power forward when he hits the ice. This Wyoming Ontario Native enjoyed an awesome November, scoring 15 goals and nine assists in just 10 games his team and their fans have enjoyed watching him this season. Arseneault’s highlight game in November came on the 23rd against the St. Marys Lincolns where he scored three goals and added 2 assists in a big 6-3 win for his Predators. |
Western Conference Goaltender – Darien Ekblad

Much of the success of the Chatham Maroons this season can be traced back to the outstanding goaltending they’ve received this season from Darien Ekblad. This Belle River Native threw up solid numbers this month and was the perfect selection as the November Western Conference Goaltender of the Month. In his second season (first with the Maroons), Ekblad has been stellar. His month of November consisted of five wins in seven games and 225 saves on 244 shots. This 6’2, 195 lbs goaltender knows how to use his size and spead to turn away the puck in key times throughout the games he’s played in. Ekblad’s highlight game in November came early on in the month, on the 4th his Maroons defeated the Sarnia Legionnaires by a score of 4-0, earning him a big shutout. |
Western Conference Defenseman – Kurtis Sander

Kurtis Sander has helped his Strathroy Rockets who struggled early on in the season, become one of the most deadly and feared teams in the Western Conference. Sanders and his awesome defensive ability earned his the honors of becoming the November Western Conference Defenseman of the Month award. This 5’9, 175lbs defenseman was nothing short of awesome this month, scoring two goals and adding three assists in seven games all while playing each night against the conference’s top forward lines. In his first season in the league, Sander has certainly become a fearce opponent to face and will certainly provide his club with solid defence well into the post season. This Barrie Ontario native had his highlight game of the month on the 30th against the St. Marys Lincolns when he scored a goal, helping his team to a big 6-3 win. |
Midwestern Conference Forward – Adam Campagnolo

Waterloo Siskins Captain Adam Campagnolo has been a staple player for his team this season. The third year forward for the Siskins club has proven himself an elite force on the ice this season, thus making him a great selection as the Midwestern Conference November Forward of the Month. Playing for his home town of Waterloo, this 5’11, 180lbs forward proved to be a key point producer for his club in November. Campagnolo’s three goals and nine assists in just six games was an impressive statistic for any player in the GOJHL. Teams around the conference had best make note of this power forward, his ability to spot the open man in tight situations makes him a deadly set up man to face. Campagnolo’s highlight game this month came on the 18th against the Guelph Hurricanes when he netted a gaol and three assists on route to a big 12-1 win for his club. |
Midwestern Conference Goaltender – PJ Bridges

For the second straight month, the November Midwestern Conference Goaltender of the Month is awarded to Waterloo Siskins netminder PJ Bridges. The Waterford Michigan goalie has shown that he can be not only awesome, but consistant. In just four games in November Bridges managed two wins and in the process made 152 saves on 162 shots. His big 6’0 frame and 185lbs body is able to cover most of the net, making it tough for the opposition to find the back of the net. The Siskins success this season can be linked, in many games, to the consitant and solid goaltending they’ve received from Bridges. November 17th against the Elmira Sugar Kings proved to be Bridges highlight game of the month. He went on to stop 69 of 71 shots on route to a very close 3-2 win for his Siskins club. |
Midwestern Conference Defenseman – Ryan Blunt

Great teams often have a combination of great goaltending, awesome scoring from forwards and solid defense. In the case of the Caledonia Corvaires, Ryan Blunt has proven to be that solid defenseman. This second season veteran has proven that he can consistantly shut down the conference’s best forwards while adding a little offense in the process. In the 11 games he played in November, Blunt managed to score eight assists making him a lock for the Midwestern Conference November Defenseman of the Month. The Brantford native who stands 6’2 and weighs 195lbs is an intimidating defenseman for any forward to face. November 30th proved to be Blunt’s highlight game of the month. His Corvaires won a 3-2 contest against the Elmira Sugar Kings with Blunt registering two assists in the process. |
Golden Horseshoe Conference Forward – Dayne Phillips

For the second straight month Port Colborne Pirates Captain Dayne Phillips has been selected to receive the Golden Horseshoe Conference Forward of the Month award. The Port Colborne native has proven that playing for his home town Pirates is a great choice for his overall hockey development. In eight November games, Phillips managed to net three goals while adding an outstanding 16 assists in the process. This 5’11, 165lbs speedy forward is a proven set-up man and has every team on edge when he’s out against them during a game. Phillips highlight November game came on the 27th against the Buffalo Blades. In a big 7-4 win for his Pirates, Phillips managed to score four assists. |
Golden Horseshoe Conference Goaltender – Chris McDougal

The Welland Canadians have enjoyed great success this season thanks in large part to their goaltender Chris McDougal. The Copper Cliff Ontario native has proven himself to be an excellent selection as the Golden Horseshoe Conference November Goaltender of the Month. In his fifth season in the GOJHL (second with Welland) this 5’9, 170lbs netminder has learned that patients as well as skill, flexability and speed can help him inbetween the pipes. Playing in five games this month, McDougal managed to win three times and in the process made 136 saves on 147 shots he faced. McDougal’s highlight game in November came on the 24th against the Stoney Creek Warriors when he turned away 19 of 20 shots he faced on route to a big 4-1 win for his Canadians club. |
Golden Horseshoe Conference Defenseman – Brad Kri

Brad Kri, Assistant Captain for the Niagara Falls Canucks becomes the Golden Horseshoe Conference November Defenseman of the Month after having a very strong month that saw his team continue to battle in a very tight conference race for second place. Kri, a Acton Ontario native is currently enjoying playing in his second season with the Canucks and it sure does show. In nine games Kri managed to score 10 assists. This massive 6’4, 212lbs defenseman is a scary player to face for any forward in the Golden Horseshoe Conference as well as the entire GOJHL. With an impressive size and offensive skill to match, Kri has become a staple player for the Canucks club. November 30th versus the Buffalo Blades proved to be his highlight game. Wtih 3 assists Kri was a key factor in the Canucks massive 11-3 victory. |

Western Conference Forward – Dylan Denomme

Much of the success of the LaSalle Vipers this season can be contributed to their Assistant Captain Dylan Denomme. His fantastic month of October made him the perfect selection to be the Western Conference October Forward of the Month. Scoring seven goals and adding an impressive 13 assists in just 10 games is an impressive stat for any hockey player, Denomme made it look easy. Helping to lead his team to a 6-4 October record, this young Windsor native has shown the rest of the league that he is a top player. Standing at 6’0 and weighing 185lbs this power forward causes problems for every oposing teams defense. Denomme’s highlight game in October came on the 24th when his Vipers won a big 4-2 game over the Sarnia Legionnaires. Denomme scored a goal and two assists in the contest. |
Western Conference Defenseman – Jake Flegel

In his first year with the Chatham Maroons hockey club, no other player has made as big an impact as defenseman Jake Flegel. His pure skill, size and speed all complement his big 6’5, 215lbs frame which makes him an intimidating oponent to play. It is these key ingredients which help to make him the perfect selection to recieve the October Western Confernece Defenseman of the Month Award. Flegel, a Whitby native has enjoyed playing in the GOJHL this season after playing his past three seasons in the OJHL with the Cobourg Cougars. The move to the Maroons has seen him flurish at his position, scoring three goals and eight assists in just 10 games in October. Flegels highlight game this month came on the 28th where he scored a goal and two assist in a big 8-1 win for his Maroons over the St. Marys Lincolns. |
Western Conference Goaltender – Dalen Kuchmey

Selected as the October GOJHL Western Conference Goaltender of the Month is Strathroy Rockets netminder Dalen Kuchmey. A solid selection for the conference’s top honor this month as he managed to win six of the eight games he played in, in October. This Windsor native was stellar in between the pipes for a solid Rockets team, turning away 264 of the 282 shots he faced in eight games. Kuchmey stands just 5’10 and weighs in at 180lbs but his solid reflexes and ability to turn the puck away at key moments of the game make him a force for the opposition to take note of when he’s staring in goal. In his third season with the Rockets, Kuchmey has shown that he belongs. His highlight game came on the 13th against the London Nationals where he shut out the opposing team, helping his club to a big 2-0 win. |

The Port Colborne Pirates have enjoyed watching the production of thier Captain Dayne Philips over the last four seasons. This solid two way forward was the perfect selection as the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference October Player of the Month. The Defending Sutherland Cup Champion St. Catharines Falcons have enjoyed watching the progression of their top defenseman Jimmy Sheehan over the last three seasons. Becoming a key component of the club, Sheehan was a solid selection as the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe October Defesenman of the Month this past month. The 6’1, 175 St. Catharines Native managed to score two goals and added 12 assists in 10 October games. With another Championship on his mind, Sheehan looks to up his game heading into the third month of the regular season. His October highlight game came on the 12th against the Thorold Blackhawks when he scored 1 goal and added two assists on route to a 5-0 win for his Falcons. |
Golden Horseshoe Conference Goaltender – Vinny Merante

Thorold Blackhawks goaltender Vinny Merante was the perfect selection for the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference Goaltender of the Month in October. The young netminder from Niagara Falls NY has been thoroughly enjoying his first season with the Blackhawks. In nine October starts, Merante managed to make 270 saves on the 293 shots he faced. Standing 6’1 and weighing 180lbs, this young man uses his size and reflexes in order to turn away the puck. Merante’s highlight game in October happened on the 6th at the Showcase Day in St. Catharines when he made 34 saves on route to a very big 2-1 overtime win for his Falcons over the Western Conference Lambton Shores Predators. |
Midwestern Conference Forward – Brady Campbell

The Elmira Sugar Kings foward Brady Campbell was the perfect selection for the GOJHL Midwestern Conference October Forward of the Month. This third year forward with the Sugar Kings has been nothing short of fantastic so far this season. Playing in 8 October games, Campbell managed to score an outstanding 13 goals while adding five assists. This Blenheim native has shown to be a key component of the Sugar Kings success this season and will no doubt make an impact further along this season. Standing 5’11 and weighing 170lbs, this speedy forward has a nack for finding the back of the net. Campbells highlight October game came on the 21st against the Guelph Hurricanes where he scored three goals and an assist in a 10-1 win for the Sugar Kings. |
Midwestern Conference Goaltender – Drew Reinhardt

The Listowel Cyclones, a young team this season, have seen their fair share of ups and downs so far. The play of their goaltender Drew Reinhardt has been stellar however. The young first year netminder for the Cyclones was honored this month with the GOJHL Midwestern Conference October Goaltender of the Month Award after posting some excellent October Stats. In five games he managed to make 185 saves on the 203 shots he faced. Winning two games, Reinhardt consistantly gave the Cyclones a winning chance against much more experienced teams in their conference. The Clinton native stands 5’11 and weighs just 160lbs, thus giving him the advantage of speed and stellar reflexes. Reinhardt’s highlight game came on October 26th against the Stratford Cullitons when he turned away 47 shots on route to his Cyclones winning the contest by a final score of 6-5. |

Elmira Sugar Kings Defeseman Clayton Greer takes home the honors of the GOJHL Midwestern Conference October Defeseman of the Month Award. This third year Sugar Kings has shown that he can play among the best in the league. In eight October games, Greer posted up three goals and added five assists while constantly playing against the conferences best and brightest young stars. This 6’0, 193lbs Wellesley native has become a staple player for the Sugar Kings who manged to win five of eight games in October. Greer’s highlight game came on the 21st against the Guelph Hurricanes where he scored a goal and an assist in their big 10-1 win. |

Midwestern Conference Forward- Connor Murphy

The GOJHL Midwestern Conference is pleased to announce that Caledonia Corvaires first year forward Connor Murphy has been selected as the Conferences September Forward of the Month. In just six games this Ancaster native managed to produce eight goals and six assists while helping his Corvairs to four wins and two losses in thier first month of the regular season. A welcomed addition to the team, Murphy stands at 5’9 and weighs in at 170lbs. This speedy forward had an amazing game on September 21st when he scored three goals and three assists on route to a big 8-2 victory for the Corvairs over the Brampton Bombers. |
Midwestern Conference Goaltender – P.J. Bridges

The Midwestern Conference Goaltender of the Month for October is none other than second year Waterloo Siskins goalie P.J. Bridges. This 6’0, 185lbs netminder was nothing short of perfect in the first month of his clubs regular season. Winning four of five games he played in, Bridges managed to save 155 of 162 shots he faced in September. The Waterford Michigan native enjoyed producing a shut out on September 30th when his Siskins managed to win a big 5-0 meeting against the Guelph Hurricanes where he made 31 saves. |
Midwestern Conference Defenseman – Andrew Coupland

The Midwestern Conference is pleased to announce that the September Defenseman of the Month is Cambridge Winter Hawks Andrew Coupland. It’s fitting that Coupland, in his third season with the club, recieves this accolade, he has been a shut down defenseman with the team for three seasons now. In September, Coupland managed to score a goal and netted three assists while constantly playing against teams top forwards each and every game. This 5’11, 160lbs defenseman uses his size and hockey sense to defend his end while beginning offensive breakouts for his club. The Glen Morris native managed to score his only goal so far this season on September 14th in an awesome 3-2 Winter Hawks win over the Caledonia Corvaires. |

The Niagara Falls Canucks Captain Cam Stewart was selected as the Golden Horseshoe Conference September Player of the Month. This news comes as no surprise as the five year veteran Canuck easily compiled 16 points in just nine games to start his season. Standing 6’1 and weighing 196 lbs, the sturdy forward certainly commands attention when he gets on the ice. A Niagara Falls Native, Stewart enjoyed scoring 11 goals and 5 assists in September. His highlight game came on the 14th against the Buffalo Blades where he registered four points, 2 goals, 2 assists in a 12-0 victory for his Canucks. |

The GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference is pleased to announce that St. Catharines Falcons defenseman and Assistant Captain, Julian Luciani is the September Defenseman of the Month. Luciani, a first year Falcon and GOJHL player has enjoyed plenty of success in a short period of time with the team. Previously, this 6’0 and 190 lbs defenseman laced up his skated with the OHL’s Belleville Bulls, Ottawa 67’s and Sarnia Sting. Now in his first season as a member of the Falcons, this Toronto native managed to net 6 goals and 8 assists in just seven games. Luciani’s highlight game came on the 7th against the Stoney Creek Warriors where he scored 3 goals on route to a 7-2 win for the Falcons. |

The GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Confernce is pleased to announce that their September Goaltender of the Month Award has been given to Thorold Blackhawks netminder Blake Richard. This 6’2, 175 lbs netminder from Grimsby has been a welcomed addition to the team this season after playing in just 8 games with the club last season. This young man uses his size and quick reflexes to turn away the puck when he is faced with action in his own end. Posting two shut outs this month, Richard managed to make 95 saves on 103 total shots he faced in his four games he played in. Richard’s highlight game came on the 18th agianst the Buffalo Blades where he turned away all 28 shots he faced, the Blackhawks won the game 2-0. |

The Western Conference September Player of the Month is non other than London Nationals Captain Noah Schwartz. Scoring 17 points in just five games, Schwartz was the hands down winner of the September honors. This marks the third season for Nationals leader, and he is enjoying it to it’s fullest. In just five games in September the Toronto native managed to net five goals and 12 assists while consistantly playing against the best lines in the Western Conference. Standing at just 5’9 and weighing 180lbs, this young man usues his hockey smarts to beat the opposition on a regular basis. His highlight game came on September 9th against the St. Marys Lincolns where he managed to score three goals and added and assist on route to a big 5-1 win for his Nationals. |
Western Conference Defenseman – Dakota Olvin

In just his second season with the Leamington Flyers Hockey Club, defenseman Dakota Olvin has become one of the key peices to the winning formula that is the Western Conference’s first place team. The young man who hails from Howell Michigan was rightfully chosen as the September Western Conference Defenseman of the Month. Constantly getting in the way of the leagues best and toughest opponents is not an easy task, however, Olvin does it with style. Standing 5’9 and weighing 200lbs this sturdy defender uses his skill and speed to cause trouble for opposing forwards. In seven games in September he managed to net a goal and five assists. Olvin’s highlight game this month came against the St. Marys Lincolns on September 7th when he scored a goal and added two assists on route to a 5-4 victory for his Flyers. |
Western Conference Goaltender – Matt Mancina

Much of the Leamington Flyers early season success this year can be contributed to the outstanding performance they received this month in goal by netminder Matt Mancina. The Western Conference selected Mancina without hesitation as he was the perfect selection for the September Western Conference Goaltender of the Month. In just his second season in the GOJHL with the Flyers, he’s exploded onto the sceen, winning five of his six September starts while turning away 153 of the 172 shots he faced in the process. This Lakeshore native who stands at 6’1 and weighs 170lbs is a big body presence in front of the Flyers net and he uses that to his advantage. Manina’s highlight game in September came on the 30th when his Flyers defeated the Strathroy Rockets 4-2. Mancina managed to turn away 37 of the 39 shots he faced in that battle. |
