Golden Horseshoe Conference (Defensemen) – Ryan Wiley |

Ryan Wiley has been a constant force on the back end of the Niagara Falls Canucks Blueline for the beter part of four seasons. This Jordan ON. native was nothing short of awesome in February collecting 20 point in just eight games. Wiley, a quarter back on the Canucks special teams, was instrumental in the clubs eight wins in eight games in Febraury, making him the perfect selection for the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference’s Defensemen of the Month Award. The 6’0, 190lbs Wiley was a bull for his club, constantly facing opponents top scorers. Netting four goals and adding 16 assists was his contribution offensively to the team in February. His highlight game this month came on the 12th agaisnt the Port Colborne Pirates where he scored a goal and added three assists in a 6-4 victory. |
Golden Horseshoe Conference (Goaltender) – Evan Buitenhuis |

The Thorold Blackhawks enjoyed a successful month of February thanks in large part to the stellar play of thier number one goaltender in Evan Buitenhuis. The Burlington native was nothing short of spectacular in February, racking up a 5-1 win/loss record in the six games he started in. Standing at 6’2 and weighing 184 lbs, Buitenhuis was a force in between the pipes for the Blackhawks as he managed to turn away 155 of the 168 shots he faced making him the perfect choice to be the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference February Goaltender of the Month. With his quick reflexes and size, Buitenhuis is tough to shoot on. His highlight game came on the 9th against the Buffalo Blades when he turned away 29 of 30 shots in a big 9-1 victory for his Blackhawks. |
Golden Horseshoe Conference (Forward) – Ben O’Quinn |

Throughout the month of February the Niagara Falls Canucks enjoyed the play of many of their top forwards, most notably was the stellar performances game in and game out from Ben O’Quinn. His awesome 21 points in seven games made O’Quinn the perfect selection for the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference February Forward of the Month. In the seven games this Woodstock native played in February for the Canucks he registered 10 goals and added 11 assists. Standing 6’1 and weighing 200lbs O’Quinn was a force up front for the Canucks in just his first season with the club. His February highlight game came on the 12th against the Port Colborne Pirates where he managed to score one goal and added three assists. |
Midwestern Conference (Forward) – Mike Iacocca |

The Guelph Hurricanes enjoyed watching the play of their regular season leading scorer and first year forward Mike Iacocca this season. His impressive 20 point month of February was good enough to give him the Midwestern Conference Forward of the Month Award. In the eight games that this Guelph Native played in, he was able to contribute 10 goals and 10 assists while constantly facing the conference’s best and brightest young stars. Standing at 6’0 and weighing 180lbs, Iacocca has been able to use his size and speed to his advantage this season. His highlight game came on February 10th against the Listowel Cyclones when his team won 9-5. Iacocca managed to score two goals and added three assists to the cause. |
Midwestern Conference (Goaltender) – Colin Furlong |

First year Guelph Hurricanes goaltender Colin Furlong was nothing short of fantastic for his club this season. Playing in seven February games the Cambridge native was able to win three while losing in two over time games. the 6’0, 170lbs goalie managed to turn away 265 of the 291 shots he faced in those seven games, good enough to become the Midwestern Conference Goaltender of the Month. Furlong’s highlight game in February came on the 18th against the Kitchener Dutchmen when he managed to make 37 saves in a massive 3-2 win for his Hurricanes club. |

The Brantford Golden Eagles have enjoyed keeping the puck out of thier end for much of the 2011-2012 season thanks in large part to the sound defensive play from one of their top defenseman, Matt Prinsen. This first year Golden Eagle was able to contribute both defensively and offensively in February, scoring seven assists in seven games. His stats made him the perfect selection for the Midwestern Conference Defenseman of the Month Award. The 5’8, 178lbs Oakville native managed to captivate his home town crowd with his crisp passes and pure hockey sense. His highlight game came on February 4th against the Stratford Cullitons when he scored two assists while his Golden Eagles took the game by a final score of 5-1. |
Western Conference (Defenseman) – Tyler Bryson |

The St. Marys Lincolns could always count on a strong game in February from their top defenseman in Tyler Bryson. The fourth year Lincolns assistant captain was a leader on and off the ice this season and played so well last month that he was selected the Western Conference Defenseman of the Month. The 6’0, 176lbs Exeter native managed to score two goals and three assists in eight games last month while consistantly playing against the best and brightest forwards in the GOJHL. Bryson’s highlight game came on February 10th agianst the Strathroy Rockets when he netted a goal and an assists. The Lincolns went on to win the game by the score of 6-3. |

The Lambton Shores Predators enjoyed their most successful season to date this past season, making the playoffs was a massive accomplishment for the club. The team can be thankful for the sound and steady goaltending desplayed all season by thier number one netminder, Brandon Campbell. The first year goalie from Alvinston managed to rack up four wins in five of his February starts, making him a perfect selection for the February Western Conference Goaltender of the Month. The 5’11, 165lbs Campbell managed to make 117 saves on the 136 shots he faced in February. Campbells highlight game came on the 18th against the Leamington Flyers when he stopped 23 shots on route to a big 3-2 win for his Predators. |
Western Conference (Forward) – Jesse Drydak |

Sarnia Legionnaires forward Jesse Drydak managed to produce some stunning desplays of offensive abilities in February. His speed and skill has been recognized by those around the league as he becomes the February Western Conference Forward of the Month. In the four seasons he’s played with the Legionnaires, this Camlachie native has come into his own as a hockey player. In the nine February games that Drydak played in he netted nine goals and added 10 assists. The 5’10, 165lbs forwards highlight game in February came on the 4th against the Leamington Flyers. The Legionnaires went on to win the game by a final score of 6-5 and Drydak, in the process, scored four goals. |

Midwestern Coference (Forward) – Riley Sonnenburg |

The Elmira Sugar Kings have nothing but possitive things to say about first year forward Riley Sonnenburg. The power forward managed to score 17 points in nine games in the month of January to become to perfect selection for the GOJHL Midwestern Conference Forward of the Month. Sonnenburg, a Hesplar native, stands 6’1 and weighs 185lbs. His size and speed make him a deadly weapon in the Sugar Kings lineup each and every night. January saw him score 10 goals and add seven assists to his impressive point total this season. His highlight game came on the 27th against the Listowel Cyclones where he managed to score a hat-trick and added an assists in a big 8-4 win. |
Midwestern Conference (Goaltender) – Marc Williams |

The strong play of Waterloo Siskins second year goaltender Marc Williams in the Month of January was good enough to make him the GOJHL Midwestern Conference Goaltender of the Month. This Waterloo native has enjoyed playing for his home team the past two seasons and wants nothing more than to help make his Siskins squad once again GOJHL contenders. Standing at 5’10 and weighing 170lbs, Williams is stedy in the blue paint and uses his quick reflexes to his advantage. Turning away 183 of the 193 shots that he faced in January, Williams has managed to frustrat the opposition on a nightly basis. His highlight game came on the 20th against the Owen Sound Greys. Williams turned away 41 of the 43 shots he faced and the Siskins managed to skate away with a 5-2 win. |
Midwestern Conference (Defenseman) – Mac Clutsam |

The Elmira Sugar Kings have been very happy with the play of first year defenseman Mac Clutsam over the span of his season. He has managed to turn away the top players in the Midwestern Conference on a nightly basis while managing to perfect his craft on the blueline. The Flamborough native stands 5’8 and weighs just 160lbs but makes up for his size with his excellent hockey sense and smarts. This young man will no doubt be a key member of the Sugar Kings for years to come. |

Welland Junior Canadians forward Mike Marquis has been enjoying his fifth season with the club this year. Playing for his home town has made him proud to dawn his teams colours each and every night. Scoring 19 points in eight games, Marquis was the perfect selection for the January GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Forward of the Month. Netting six goals and adding 13 assists, Marquis shot himself onto the radar of the opposition each night he hit the ice. Helping his Canadians win seven of eight games in January Marquis was a leader not only on the ice but in the dressing room as well. His highlight game came against the Buffalo Blades on January 8th where he scored two goals and added three assists in a big 10-1 win. |

The Stoney Creek Warriors are enjoying the newly accuired defenseman Joseph Monticchio. This first year Warrior has played in just 13 games to date but has already impacted the team in a positive way. Scoring 10 points in 10 games in January, Monticchio was an excellent choice for the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Defenseman of the Month. With a goal and nine assists, this 6’0, 175lbs blueliner is a power house on the back end. His work ethic is something many of his teammates can shadow and learn from. In January, his highlight game came on the 10th against the Buffalo Blades. In that game he managed to score a goal and added two assists. The Warriors skated away with a big 10-5 win. |
Golden Horseshoe Conference (Goaltender) – Cody Vinnai |

For the second streight month, Cody Vinnai, the stellar Niagara Falls Canucks goaltender is the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference Goaltender of the Month. The 6’0, 160lbs netminder had another stellar month, turning away 274 of the 289 shots he faced while leading the canucks to six wins in seven starts. Furthermore, Vinnai played in some very close and tough games against some really strong Golden Horseshoe Conference teams. The Brantford native’s highlight game of the month came on January 28th when he stopped 51 of 54 shots. His team went on to win agianst the St. Catharines Falcons by the final score of 4-3. |
Western Conference (Forward) – Davis Brown |

The Strathroy Rockets have enjoyed a fantastic second half of their season thanks in large part to the awesome play of their leading scorer Davis Brown. The second year Rocket put some big numbers up this month to become the perfect selection as the GOJHL Western Conference Forward of the Month. Standing at 5’9 and weighing 182lbs, Brown uses his awesome speed and hockey sense to find the back of the net. In 10 January games, this Ilderton native managed to net 14 goals and added 11 assists as he led his Rockets to a 6-4 January record. Browns highlight game came on January 22nd against the Lambton Shores Predators when he scored three goals and two assists on route to a 8-1 Rockets victory. |
Western Conference (Defense) – Chad Shepley |

Chad Shepley is a defenseman that not many forwards in the Western Conference look forward to going into the corners agianst. The 6’2, 195lbs blueliner can shut down the opposition while adding some points, this made him the perfect selection as the January GOJHL Western Conference Defenseman of the Month. In eight games, Shepley managed to score two goals and six assists against some fantastic teams. Constantly playing against the best forwards in the conference, Shepley still managed to play stellar hockey. This Amherstburg native is currently enjoying his first season with the LaSalle Vipers and shows no signs of slowing down. His highlight game came on January 18th when he scored a goal and four assists. The Vipers went on to beat the Strathroy Rockets by a final score of 6-5. |

The Leamington Flyers have seen their stock in the GOJHL rise significantly this season thanks in large part to the sweet play of thier number one goaltender Darien Ekblad. Going four wins in six starts this month, Ekblad was the perfect selection as the January GOJHL Western Conference Goaltender of the Month. Standing at 6’2 and weighing 180lbs, this Belle River native uses his size and quick reflexes better than most other goaltenders. He managed to turn away 130 of the 143 shots he faced this month and frustrated the opposition in the process. Ekblad’s highlight game was on January 29th agianst the Chatham Maroons when he saved 34 of 35 shots he faced, helping to propel the team to a 5-1 victory. |

In his fourth year in the GOJHL defenseman Chris Langdon has seemingly finally found his home with the Welland Canadians. The St. Catharines native posted 10 points in eight games, making him an excellent selection as the December GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference Defenseman of the Month. Standing at 6’3 and weighing 215lbs, this big strong defenseman is tough in the corners and a tremendous force on the blue line. scoring four goals and six assists, Langdon made his presence felt each time he hit the ice. His highlight game came on December 1st against the Stoney Creek Warriors. He scored one goal and adde an assist on route to a 5-3 win. |

The Niagara Falls Canucks have enjoyed plenty of on ice success this season thanks in large part to the stellar play of their number one goaltender Cody Vinnai. Winning five of the six games he played in Vinnai was an excellent choice for the December GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference Goaltender of the Month. The 6’0, 160lbs Brantford native has excellent reflexes and natural ability to see the puck through traffic. In his six games in December, Cody was able to save 217 out of the 229 shots he faced. His highlight game came on December 30th against hte Welland Canadians where he stopped 47 shots on route to a big 5-4 win for his Canucks. |

The Thorold Blackhawks have found quite the scorer this season in forward Greg Cerilli. The first year Blackhawk managed to net 14 points in just 10 games in December, good enough to become the months GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference Forward of the Month. Standing at 5’11 and weighing 190lbs, this Barrie native has brought his speed and skill to the Blackhawks organization hoping to compete for the Sutherland Cup in a few months. In 10 games this month, Greg managed to score 5 goals and added 9 assists. His highlight game came on the 20th against the Buffalo Blades when he scored a goal and two assists on route to a 8-0 win. |

Jordan McNaughton is a major factor as to why the Strathroy Rockets had so much success in December. The third year defenseman in the GOJHL netted five point in eight games and is the perfect selection for the December GOJHL Defenseman of the Month award. Standing at 5’11 and weighing 180lbs, this Komoka native knows how to put the puck in the net while defending his own end from the opposition. In eight games he scored two goals and three assists and helped the Rockets win six times. McNaughton’s highlight game came on the 10th of December. He scored a goal and an assist on route to a 4-2 win over the LaSalle Vipers. |

The Strathroy Rockets enjoyed a very successful month of December thanks in large part to the stellar play of goaltender Dalen Kuchmey. The first year Rocket has enjoyed much success helping his new team move up in the standings in December. Winning five of seven games he played in Dalen was the perfect selection for the December GOJHL Western Conference Goaltender of the Month. The 5’10, 180lbs Windsor native was nothing short of awesome in the seven games he played in. Managing to produce a shut out while helping his team climb up the standings, Kuchmey has seemingly found his grove heading into the second half of the season. His highlight game came on December 7th where he backstopped his Rockets to a 5-0 win over the London Nationals. |

In his third full season in the GOJHL, forward Ryan Speers has seemingly found his place among the LaSalle Vipers. The Windsor Native’s 14 points in 8 games made him the perfect selection as the December GOJHL Western Conference Forward of the Month. Standing at 5’10 and weighing 175lbs, Speers is a natural play maker when he gets a hold of the puck. In December he scored seven goals and added seven assists. His highlight game came on December 11th against the London Nationals where he managed to net two goals and two assists on route to a big 7-4 win for his LaSalle Vipers. |

The Brantford Golden Eagles have been lucky enough to have defenseman Dillan Walker on their blue line for three seasons now. His impressive ability to shut down top scorer’s on opposing teams on a nightly basis makes him a valuable asset to the Golden Eagles hockey club. standing at 5’11 and weighing just 175lbs, Walker uses his speed and hockey sense to defend his teams zone while jumping up when needed to add a needed point for his team. The Brantford native has enjoyed plenty of success with his home town hockey club in his three years with the team. His highlight game came on December 2nd against Owen Sound when he registered a goal and an assist, his team won the contest by a final score of 9-3. |

Scoring an impressive 25 pints in just eight games, Cambridge Winter Hawks leading scorer Josh Timpano was the perfect selection for the December GOJHL Midwestern Conference Forward of the Month. This second year Winter Hawk has been enjoying plenty of personal and team success this season. The Couchiching native stands 5’10 and weighs just 185lbs, but don’t let his size fool you, he’s a tank when he gets on the ice. December saw him net five goals as he dished the puck of 20 times for assists, his ability to spot the open man has made him a valuable asset to his club. His highlight game came on December 4th against the Guelph Hurricanes where he scored two goals and added three assists on route to a big 11-3 victory for his Winter Hawks.

Any good team in the GOJHL must have a solid goaltender to back them up when the going gets tough. This season the Brantford Golden Eagles have just that in their number one goalie, Bryce O’Hagan. The first year Golden Hawk has managed to make his presence on his team felt each and every time he takes his spot in between the pipes. With five wins in seven games for his club, Bryce was the perfect selection for this December GOJHL Midwestern Conference Goaltender of the Month. The 6’2, 192lbs Burlington native managed to save 193 of the 208 shots which he faced this month. his highlight game came on the 16th of December where he helped by stopping 31 of the 32 shots he faced on route to a 6-1 win for the Golden Eagles over the Listowel Cyclones. |

Midwestern Conference (Goaltender) – Lucas Machalski |

The Cambridge Winter Hawks have played some fantastic hockey in November thanks in large part to some sound goaltending from Lucas Machalski. Winning five of his seven starts, Machalski was the perfect selection for the GOJHL November Midwestern Conference Goaltender of the Month. Machalski managed to save 208 of the 227 shots he faced in November. The Cambridge native is enjoying his second season with the club. Standing 5’11 and weighing 185lbs his reflexes and natural ability to stop the puck makes him a wanted goaltender on any Junior B hockey team. Machalski’s highlight game came on the 15th against the Buffalo Blades in an interlock match-up. He turned away 25 of 26 shots he faced on route to a 3-1 victory for his Winter Hawks. |
Midwestern Conference (Forward) – Ray Huether |

No one had a bigger November than Cullitons forward Ray Huether. The second year Culliton managed to net 10 goals and eight assists in nine games. That impressive point total was good enough to make him the Midwestern Conference November Forward of the Month. Standing 6’1 and weighing 190lbs, this Londesborough native enjoys putting the puck in the net and hopes to continue his scoring trend well into the post season. His highlight game in November came on the 6th against the Kitchener Dutchmen when he scored two goals and an assist on route to a 4-1 Cullitons victory. |

The key to the success this season for the Elmira Sugar Kings can be contributed to a number of different players. It’s those defensemen who continue to shut down the top players in their conference on a nightly basis who don’t seem to get the credit when credit is deserved. Justin Cooke does just that each and every night he steps onto the ice. In his first season with the Sugar Kings, the 5’11, 155lbs Sault Ste. Marie native has shown he can play with the leagues elite players. The Sugar kings won 5 of the seven games that Cooke played in. He managed to score just a single assist but was key to shutting down snipers from other clubs. Cooke’s highlight game in November came on the 26th against the Kitchener Dutchmen where he scored an assist on route to a 5-2 Sugar Kings win. |

Andy Sturtz has captivated Buffalo Blades fans all season long with his ability to put the puck in the net. His impressive 11 points in nine games make him a great selection for the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference November Forward of the Month. In nine games Sturtz managed to net six goals and five assists. The Tonawanda NY, native hopes to get his Blades club deep in the post season in his first year with the club. Standing 5’11 and weighing 175lbs this speedy forward uses his speed and skills to his advantage. Sturtz highlight game in November came on the 22nd against the Stoney Creek Warriors. He managed to score a hat-trick in a 6-4 win for his Blades. |

The St. Catharines Falcons have enjoyed a very success first half of their regular season thanks in large part to the awesome defensive play from their team Captain Kenny Bradford. The St. Catharines Native was the perfect selection for the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference November Defensemen of the Month. Standing at 6’2 and weighing 195lbs this solid blue liner managed to score three goals and added 10 assists in just 8 games in November. The Falcons won seven of their eight match-ups and continued to hold down the top spot in the Golden Horseshoe Conference. Bradford’s highlight game came on November 19th when his Falcons played and interlock game against the Strathroy Rockets. He netted two goals and added two assists in a 6-4 Falcons win. |

The Nigara Falls Canucks have had and will continue to enjoy plenty of success for the rest of their season with goaltender Cody Vinnai in between the pips. The Brantford native was selected as the GOJHL November Goaltender of the Month in the Golden Horseshoe Conference. Winning four of his eight starts, Vinnai can be credited with winning his fare share of games this season without the help of his teammates. The 6’0, 160lbs netminder uses his size and quick reflexes to continue to turn away the leagues best snipers on a nightly basis. Saving 280 of the 301 shots he faced in November, Vinnai’s highlight game was on the 18th of November. In an interlock game between his club and the London Nationals, Vinnai turned away 44 of the 45 shots he faced. His Canucks went on to win the game by a final score of 3-1. |

The Chatham Maroons Captain Sean Myers was the perfect selection for the GOJHL Western Conference November Forward of the Month Award. Myers has been instramental in leading his team on and off the ice this season. In November the Chatham native managed to score 10 goals and 5 assists while his club won five of their 10 November games. The 5’10, 196lbs forward uses his speed and hockey smarts to get to the net and bury timely goals. Myers highlight game in November came on the 6th against the Sarnia Legionnaires when he scored two goals and added an assist. His Maroons went on to win that game by a final score of 6-3. |

Helping to lead his club to win seven of 10 games in November, Defenseman Clark West was a solid selection for the GOJHL Western Conference Defenseman of the Month for November. The Toronto Native has enjoyed plenty of success in his second season with the Nationals. This 6’3, 190lbs monster defenseman constantly shuts down the leagues top scorers while contributing with points when needed. West managed to net a goal and five assists in his 10 November games. West’s highlight game came on the 16th, in an interlock game, against the Welland Jr. Canadians. His club won 3-0 and he managed to net an assist. |

Tyler Edwards is a main reason why the London Nationals are a top the Western Conference standings going into December. His six wins in seven games were very well won, making him the perfect candidate to receive the November GOJHL Western Conference Goaltender of the Month Award. Playing in his fourth season with the Nationals, this 6’0, 165lbs goaltender has managed to use his quick reflexes and size to his advantage. In November he turned away 189 of the 215 shots he faced. This London Natives highlight game came on the 9th against the St. Thomas Stars. Edwards was fundamental in the victory, turning aside 32 of the 34 shots he faced in a big 3-2 win for his club. |

This season the Niagara Falls Canucks team and fans have enjoyed watching the play of first year player Ben O’Quinn. The 6’0, 200lbs Woodstock Ontario native has been nothing short of excellent this season with his tremendous offensive play. His 25 points in 11 games makes him a solid selection for the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference Forward of the Month. O’Quinn managed to net 13 goals and added 12 assists while consistantly facing the conference’s best and toughest defensemen. His highlight game came on the 8th at the Showcase in St. Catharines when his Canucks defeated the Waterloo Siskins by a final score of 7-5. In that game Ben scored two goals and four assists. |

The Niagara Falls Canucks are considered to be one of the best teams in their conference this season. In the four seasons he has played for them assistant captain Ryan Wiley has proven that he is in fact one of the premier defensemen in the conference. His two goals and 13 assists in just 11 games made him the perfect selection for the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference Defenseman of the Month. The Jordan Ontario native stands 6’0 and weighs 190lbs. His size has helped him on the ice as he is constantly played by his coaches against the best players from the conference. In the 11 games he played in October, Wiley scored two goals and added 13 assists. His highlight game came on the 28th against the Thorold Blackhawks where he scored 3 assists in a 5-2 victory for his Canucks. |

The St. Catharines Falcons have enjoyed plenty of success this season thanks in large part to the stellar goaltending that Brad Pope has given them. In October, Pope managed to win all six of the games he played in, making him the perfect selection for the Golden Horseshoe Conference October Goaltender of the Month. The 6’0, 185lbs Hamilton native uses his size, speed and reflexes to turn away the leagues top snipers on a nightly basis. He made an impressive 169 saves on the 183 shots he faced in October. Pope’s highlight game of the month came on the 7th when he shut out the Welland Junior Canadians 3-0 to help his club increase their conference lead. |

The Stratford Cullitons have so enjoyed the early play of defenseman Mike Pleon. The Waterloo native is in his second season with the club and his ability to shut down opposing teams top scorers has earned him the GOJHL Midwestern Conference October Defenseman of the Month award. Standing at just 5’10 and weighing only 172lbs, Pleon is by no means a massive body on the blue line, however his speed and skill makes up for his lack of size. Constantly shutting down the conferences top scorers while adding to his own statistics is something that is worth its weight in gold. Pleon managed to net a goal and six assists in 8 October games while his Cullitons went on to win 7 of them. His highlight game came on the 15th against the Brantford Golden Eagles where he scored a goal in a 3-2 win. |

If the Stratford Cullitons are going to be a big player in this year’s post season run, much of their success rests on the shoulders of their biggest pick up of the summer. Goaltender Jesse Raymond has been spectacular in the early stages of this season and looks to continue the trend well into the winter months. The Woodstock native turned away 162 of the 171 shots he faced in October, making him the perfect selection for the GOJHL Midwestern Conference October Goaltender of the Month. the 6’2, 183lbs goalie signed with the Cullitons after playing a season with the Brampton Golden Eagles Jr. A Club and is happy he did so. In six October games he won five while posting a 1.85 goals against average and a .941 save per-centage. Raymonds highlight game in October came on the 28th against the Cambridge Winter Hawks, he stopped all 29 shots he faced on route to a 3-0 shut out win. |

Much of the success this season for the Elmira Sugar Kings can be traced back to the amazing point production being showcased by Andrew Smith. The fourth year Sugar King had an amazing October Month making him the perfect choice for the GOJHL Midwestern Conference Forward of the Month. Smith, a 6’3, 196lbs power forward has been nothing short of fantastic. In the 11 games in October he registered 12 goals and 12 assists and helped the GOJHL’s first place Sugar Kings win eight games. The Kitchener native has one Sutherland Cup with the Sugar Kings. Smiths highlight game in October came on the 2nd against the Kitchener Dutchmen, he scored two goals and added an assists in a 5-4 victory. |

The St. Thomas Stars leading scorer Drew Collinson has been tearing up the Western Conference the entire month of October. His 25 points in 11 games made him the perfect selection for the GOJHL Western Conference Offensive Player of the Month. Collinson, a Lambeth native is currently enjoying his fourth season with the Stars. The 6’1, 195lbs left winger managed to net 13 goals and 12 assists in October while his team went on to win seven of thier 11 games. In October, Collinsons highlight game came on the 20th when he scored three goals and added 1 assist in a 6-3 win over the Chatham Maroons. |

The Sarnia Legionniares enjoyed a fantastic October thanks in large part to the stellar play of defenseman Anthony Donati. With his ability to shut down the opposition on a nightly basis while contributing offensively, Donati was an easy choice for the GOJHL Western Conference October Player of the Month. The 6’2, 200lbs London native is currently enjoying his third season with the Legionniares and in the month of October helped them win all eight of their games. His five goals and five assists while consistantly playing against the Western Conference’s best offensive players makes him a perfect player on any team. Donati’s highlight game came on the 26th against the LaSalle Vipers, his two goals helped the Legionnaires win the game 3-2. |

The Sarnia Legionniares enjoyed a solid October thanks in large part to the play of their number one goaltender Kyle Washer. In his five games he played, Washer managed to win all five games while allowing just 10 goals against, good enough to become the GOJHL Western Conference Goaltender of the Month. The 5’11, 180lbs Leonard Michigan native has been sound in goal while providing his teammates with confidence when he is in between the pipes. In his fourth season with the Legionniares, Washer has demonstrated what it takes to be at the top of his game. His October highlight game came on the 8th when his Legionnaires defeated the Welland Jr. Canadians at the GOJHL Showcase by a final score of 12-0. |

With a perfect start to their regular season this year the Stratford Cullitons are nothing short of awesome when they take to the ice. This is due in large part to the scoring powerhouse that is forward Brad McClure. The third year Stratford native has enjoyed playing for his home town team this season. In the seven games the Cullitons played in September, McClure netted 12 goals and two assists. The 6’0, 171lbs power forward uses his size and skill to get the puck into the oppositions net. McClures highlight game came in the first game of the regular season. On September 9th he scored three goals on route to a 7-1 win over the Waterloo Siskins. |

The Stratford Cullitons have enjoyed a perfect start to their regular season thanks in large part to a sollid defensive core led by first year Culliton Tyler Marchand. Marchand managed to score eight assists in seven games for the Cullitons in September, a stat that was good enough to make him the GOJHL Midwestern Conference Defenseman of the Month. The Penetanguishene native has adapted to the speed of Jr. B hockey after coming off two seasons playing Jr. C in his home town. A player who can see both ends of the ice quite well Marchand is deadly both on offense and defense. the 5’11, 165lbs guard of the blueline had his highlight game on the 24th when his Cullitons defeated the Cambridge Winter Hawks 5-3 and he scored two assists. |

The first GOJHL Midwestern Conference Goaltender of the Month Award is hands down Nck Horrigan of the Elmira Sugar Kings. This third year net minder was the perfect candidate for the award, after a stellar previous season that saw the Sugar Kings capture the Sutherland Cup, Horrigan has helped to lead them so far to an undefeated season. Going 6-0 in the month of September, the quick reflexed Horrigan turned away 184 of 194 shots. The 6’2, 170lbs Mount Forest native will be a key factor in the success of his club this season. Horrigans highlight game in September came on the 18th against the Brantford Golden Eagles when he held his own, turning away 38 of 40 shots in a 3-2 overtime win. |

The Lambton Shores Predators have enjoyed their best start to the regular season ever thanks in large part to the stellar play of forward Brendon Merritt. With 17 assists he’s become the GOJHL Western Conference Foward of the Month for September. The big 6’3, 225lbs forward from Brantford can use both his size and hockey skill to dominate over the opposition. In his second season with the Predators he has come into his own, scoring 7 goals and adding 10 assists in just 7 games in September, Merritt is a force that should not be messed with. This power forward had his best game of the month on the 22nd against the Chatham Maroons where he scored 2 goals and 2 assists on route to a 3-2 win for his Predators. |

Ron Soucie is the GOJHL Western Conference Defenseman of the Month in September after having produced a stellar first month on his Leamington Flyers. Soucie, a massive 6-4, 235lbs LaSalle native is a shut down defenseman that no forwards want to match up against. In his second season with the Flyers he has come into his own and become the teams “shut down man”. In three games in September Soucie managed to net a goal but kept the opposition away from his goaltenders view. His best game came on September 29th against the London Nationals where he scored that goal on route to a 3-2 win for his Flyers. |

The St. Marys Lincolns are enjoying one of their most successful starts to their regular season in reacent history thanks in large part to the play of their goaltender Greg Dodds. Dodd’s impressive stats made him the perfect candidate for the GOJHL Western Confrerence September Goaltender of the Month. The 6-1, 177lbs Wingham native is currently in his 3rd season with the Lincolns and loving every minute of it. Dodd’s was unreal in September allowing just 12 goals against in 6 games while winning all 6 of them. His best game came on September 9th against the Leamington Flyers where he stopped all 45 shots he faced on route to a 3-0 win for his Lincolns. |

The Niagara Falls Canucks have had a excellent start to their season this year thanks in large part to the play of team captain Cam McLean. The fifth year Canucks was named team captain this year and went to work early on at providing his teammates with plenty to modle their games after. The 6’2, 180lbs Niagara Falls native has been nothing short of spectacular this season. In just 6 September games McLean netted 7 goals and added 10 assists for a total of 17 points. McLeans best game came on the 30th when his Canucks defeated the St. Catharines Falcons 5-4 and he scored 2 goals and 2 assists. |

The Fort Erie Meteors are enjoying watching the play of Andrew Ansell, the September GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Conference Defenseman of the Month. In eight games this one of a kind defenseman managed to net two goals and five assists. The 5’8, 175lbs Ashburn VA native makes up for his lack of size with his hockey smarts. Ansell’s best game of September came on the 24th when his Meteors lost a heart breaking 8-5 game against the Niagara Falls Canucks, he still netted a goal and three assists. |

The Golden Horseshoe Conference is pleased to announce that Septembers Goaltender of the Month for September is Matt Coulombe from the Welland Jr. Canadians. This young netminder is enjoying his third season on his local hockey team. The 5’11, 160lbs Welland Native managed to help his team win two of five games in September while doing what he can to help his team stay within the tough competition in the Golden Horseshoe Conference. Allowing just 14 goals against in September Coulombe’s best game of the month came on September 8th when he helped his Canadians defeat the Thorold Blackhawks by a final score of 4-0. |
